May - cute thing she does

Second installment of the cutest things Maya does.

• She has found her mouth, and can put almost her whole fist into it. She likes discovering things to put into her mouth.
• She has a strong grip and loves to hold our fingers, especially when she is eating.
• We went to the Dr this week for her 2 month check-up, she got her first shots (so sad). The Dr. says she’s healthy, and looks happy. He said “you have a perfect baby”. We agreed.
• She now weighs 11 lbs 6 oz (75th percentile), and is 22.5” long (91^st percentile).
• She is starting to recognize when we are in the room, and will turn towards us when we talk to her.
• She will focus on objects. She loves staring at the lights and will follow them when we are walking around with her.
• She has started sleeping more through the night and actually slept 5 hours straight last night (we are very happy about that).
• My Favorite, she has started responding to us with a smile. You can tell when she is happy and loving life.
• She also love to kick and she will spend 30 min to a hour just kicking and kicking in the air. Sure to be a great soccer player.

Shots...  Not her favorite thing.  But we got cute my little pony band-aid's.

Cute things Maya does...

Each month we get to write a letter to our birth mom.  These are some of the cute things Maya does that were included in the letter:

• Maya is a sneezer, but when she sneezes, it is always twice, and only like once a day.
• She makes the cutest sounds. Sounds like a sheep sometimes, and squeals like a piglet.
• She is learning to use her legs, I used to call this her diaper dance, where she would kick her legs as I was changing her diapers. Now she kicks her legs whenever she is laying flat on her back. She also moves her hands with it.
• She still sleeps most of the day. And wakes every 2-3 hours at night.
• She will only take a binkey sometimes, but doesn't seem to need it.
• When she is sound asleep she sometimes cries out, and then goes right back to sleep.
• She has bright big eyes (kind of like Brianna), and is starting to focus on things around her.
• She is a gassy baby, which makes her smile ALL the time. She sometimes also laughs.
• She LOVES the water. Wether we are soaking her feet, taking a bath, or a shower. She actually cries when she has to leave the water or if she hears the shower and doesn't get into the water.
• She likes to hold her hands, closed tight, with her thumb under her forefinger (like “got your nose”)
• She holds her head up, her neck is really strong.
• She gets Hiccups almost every time she eats.
• At her 2 week checkup she weighed 7 pounds 1 once and was 20 inches and was perfectly healthy
• Her favorite place to sleep is on my or Dan's chest (especially at 5:00 AM)

Baby Showers

The last few weeks have been full of bab showers.  So far Dan's family had one (From Ana, Tia Leni, and Heidi), Tara through one for my firends in the ward, and My mom and sisters gave me one for the old neighberhood, and friends.

Maya's Room

It's almost done!  This is the main wall where her cradle goes.  A good friend Missy helped by cutting out the dots, and the words are cut from a clear tablecloth plastic.  We wanted to have "discrete" words on the wall.

The words include, love, create, muse, excite, love and my favorite word Giggle. 

This is the wall with the cradle that my dad made in front of it, and our new rocking chair!
